    This position is an integral part of the US Finance function supporting the Commercial ledgers.  The successful incumbent will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including monthly close activities and a variety of special projects.  The individual will be a key contributor in the continued movement towards the creation of more prompt, useful, and consolidated reporting. 

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities

      • Monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
      • Monthly journal entries including areas of (but not limited to): accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, leases, inventory and deferred service
      • Assist in the monthly balance sheet and P&L analytical analysis
      • Perform analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts and sub ledgers to determine what entries/accruals need to be made for month end.
      • Perform variance analysis on monthly financial statements and prepare written explanations for significant variances.
      • Support process improvement initiatives for specific areas of responsibility.
      • Assist in representation of the Company in financial audits and reviews.
      • Assist with the application of GAAP to new transactions
      • Support corporate initiatives to enhance financial reporting
      • Support SOX 404 documentation and compliance requirements
      • Establish rapport and build cooperative, respectful working relationships with relevant internal and external parties.
      • As the workload demand changes for the department, additional responsibilities may be required
      • Special projects as needed.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications

      • Advanced MS Excel skills
      • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
      • CPA, MBA and/or public accounting experience preferred
      • Excellent verbal and writing skills required
      • Demonstrates high level of maturity, self-motivation, and team-orientation
      • Ability to stay organized and multi-task as needed
      • Creative problem solver
      • Perform well under pressure
      • Process mindset with focus on continuous improvement
      • Understand the importance of internal controls and segregation of duties
      • Experience with performing similar responsibilities in a $500M+ business
      • HFM experience is a plus
      • Flexibility to handle changing priorities and tight deadlines.
