  • Overview

    Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Learning & Development, and this person will be accountable for the development and implementation of training strategies, plans, programs and processes to support the Salix Business unit.  This role will support the launch of a new product to mitigate symptoms opioid withdrawal.


    • Partner with marketing, sales, and operations to identify training needs and recommend solutions.
    • Develop, implement and facilitate training workshops as required for National Sales Meetings and other meetings that may be necessary as determined by the commercial teams.
    • Co-travel with new and current sales personnel to assess, coach and develop their level of product knowledge and skills related
    • Assist in creating a measurement strategy and sustainability process before and after programs/initiatives
    • Identify, design, create and facilitate effective content that improves the desired competency level of account managers
    • Responsible for coaching, developing and utilizing the field based trainers in on-boarding new hires and in new hire training programs.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze performance gaps and develop training initiatives to drive results
    • Continuously seek and support new approaches, practices and processes to improve the efficiency of training services offered.
    • Plan, organize and facilitate new hire and ongoing training programs
    • Become product expert on assigned promoted and competitive prod


    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
    • Minimum of 2 years in industry as a sales professional and/or at least 1 years with Valeant
    • Opioid market/Dependency/Addiction experience in a sales, sales training or Marketing role is a must
    • Previous Sales Training experience, corporate and/or field-based is preferred.
    • A willingness to “roll up your sleeves” within a small team and wear multiple hats
    • Demonstrated ability to be proactive, self-motivated and self-directed.
    • Strong verbal, listening, written communications and facilitation skills required.
    • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and act decisively
    • Ability to serve as a role model/mentor/coach to new and tenured representatives.
    • Minimum of 30% field time.
    • Demonstration of sustained, high performance in current position and a strong aptitude for sales training
