    The Director, Commercial Business Insights will be responsible for collaborating across multiple functions within the Commercial business in support of the Salix Pharmaceuticals Sales & Marketing teams to leverage data and analytics to drive strategic and executional excellence across the Salix portfolio of brands. A premium will be placed on strategic thinking, business acumen, and analytical ability. This role will reside within the Commercial Insights & Analytics function and partner closely with Targeting, Call Planning, Incentive Compensation, Advanced Analytics, Market Research, Forecasting, Market Access, and Information Management. This person must be comfortable in operating in a fast paced “start-up” type environment.  This role will serve as the strategic integration point between Commercial Analytics functions and Salix Sales & Marketing especially the General Manager, VP of Sales, VP of Marketing, Brand Directors and Regional Sales Directors. This role reports directly to the Vice President of Commercial Insights & Analytics.

    Responsibilities

    • Serve as a strategic partner for the Salix business in driving common processes and practices for measurement and evaluation of Commercial performance.
    • Develop strong working relationships with Salix Sales & Marketing VPs and Directors as well as Commercial Analytics functional leads to maximize the value of those capabilities for Salix.
    • Establishing regular performance reviews that measure the performance across key performance metrics related to sales demand, competition, field execution, marketing initiatives, etc.
    • Support Regional Sales Directors in uncovering opportunities in execution, pull through, and planning to drive brand performance across the promoted portfolio.
    • Work closely with brand and sales team to develop insights related to competitive market conditions, promotion, and market access and identify areas of opportunity for growth.
    • Help establish process and analytics to evaluate launch trajectory for Lucemyra & Plenvu
    • Connect the dots across Sales & Marketing, Sales Planning, Forecasting & Analytics to drive a common story on performance of Salix brands and execution of tactics.
    • Leverage data and analytics to support the Long Range Strategic planning efforts of Salix
    • Work closely with Sales Operations & Reporting to ensure Tableau aligns to the strategic direction of the brands as well as meets the needs of the field.
    • Co-develop quarterly business review presentation through the appropriate use of data and analytics.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree; Advanced degree in business-related discipline preferred
    • 12-15 years of work experience
    • 5+ years Pharmaceutical industry experience in Commercial
    • Experience in supporting and interacting closely with Executive Management
