  • Overview

    Interface with R&D technical teams on project needs, interpretation of voice of customer data and interpreting the end product requirements.  Design and conduct clinical studies in support of research and development projects

    Responsibilities

    Interface with R&D technical teams on project needs, interpretation of voice of customer data and interpreting the end product requirement.  Design and execute clinical studies for the evaluation of developmental contact lenses, lens care solutions, and general eye care products; analyze study data and write technical reports.

     

    • Design and conduct clinical studies in support of developmental or core research projects, process validations, cost improvement efforts, and Marketing assistance/competitive analyses.
    • Conduct statistical analyses of study data and write technical reports.
      Represent Clinic on assigned R&D project teams; provide directional feedback.
    • Support global operations re: technical inquiries.
    • Keep current on existing technologies, competitive products, new techniques, B+L SOPs and Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Keeps patient safety at the highest priority

    Business Impact: Expectations of significant contributions to the introduction of several new products, processes, or applications resulting in significant cumulative increased sales, savings or value. 

     

    Key Reloationships:  Senior Director Clinical Affairs, R&D program managers and technical leaders, Clinical Research Associates, Clinical Technicians and Clinical ODs.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications (include education, prior knowledge, experience or special skills required to perform the job's major duties)

    • Education: Doctor of Optometry or equivalent (OD, MS Optom) with MS/PhD (required).
    • Experience: 2+ years of Clinical Research experience. NY state license or ability to obtain NY license.    
    • Demonstration of cross-functional leadership.
    • Special Skills: Clinical study design, Clinical research and statistical analysis, excellent verbal and writing skills.

    Specialized Training: Contact Lens Residency preferred or post-graduate degree preferred.

    Preferred: 2+ years industry experience
