  • Overview

    Oversee all operational activities from the point product ships from a Manufacturing plant to when it delivers to our customers.

    Responsibilities

    Oversees the following:

    • Inbound/Outbound freight
    • Warehousing and pick/pack/ship activities with VPNA Distribution Centers and 3PLs
    • Finished good inventory

    Scope of Position:

    • Freight
      • Provide oversight and management for all domestic and international inbound and outbound freight to support the US business
      • Develop and support processes for temp controlled shipping
      • Develop and support Freight Pickup SOPs for internal and external manufacturers
      • Support lane analysis and carrier selection for International shipments
      • Develop and monitor freight metrics
    • Distribution Center Operations
      • Provide oversight and guidance for all distribution activities within VPNA in regards to the following
      • Develop and monitor DC metrics in regards to safety, quality, inventory accuracy, on time performance, productivity etc
      • Develop and Initiate cost saving initiatives
      • Support product launches and strategic project initiatives
      • Work closely with Sales and Customer Service to support customer requirements
    • Finished Good Inventory
      • Provide oversight and strategic direction for management of all finished good inventory
      • Ensuring all SOX compliance requirements are met
      • Develop/maintain/monitor inventory management and control procedures
      • Recommend and get approvals for destruction requests
      • Represent the US Finished Good inventory for any Global Inventory Policy changes
    • Personnel Management
      • Mentor and support all function direct reports
      • Develop, manage and balance resources across multiple sites
      • Cascade corporate level info and directives to team
      • Develop strong working relationships with internal and external partners (QA, Customer Service, IT, Supply Chain, Internal sites, Customer contacts and International Affiliates)

    Qualifications

    • Strong project management skills
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Project)
    • Strong knowledge of ERP and WMS systems
    • Ability to drive organizational change
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
    • A high capacity for work and the ability to multi-task while meet demanding timelines
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills

    Experience:

    • 4 year college degree
    • Minimum 10 years Logistics/Supply Chain Experience in Pharma industry preferred
