  • Overview

    The Key Account Executive (KAE) is a professional sales position whose primary purpose is to grow our ophthalmic surgical business through maintaining existing accounts and growing in new/existing accounts, pulling through the B+L bundle of products. The Key Account Executive is responsible for the sales results in a respective region and franchise, creating and keeping productive relationships with hospital/ASC managers, KOL’s and important non-KOL surgeons. Leverage interest of whole the whole B+L product portfolio. The position has primary responsibility for closing the contracts for new and existing business. The KAE reports to the Director of Sales, East and covers Florida. 

    Responsibilities

    • Successfully complete a formal training and certification program for all responsible products in the areas of product knowledge and selling skills.
    • Meet or exceed territory sales objectives.
    • Develop an effective teamwork relationship with other B+L representatives in the sales region.
    • Lead successful negotiations with hospital administration.
    • Manage relationships with hospital and ASC administration, leading surgeons to utilizing B+L products.
    • Develop appropriate key account plans; Implement successful sales strategies in selected accounts.
    • Communicate and agree objectives with Regional Business manager and Sales Director.
    • Perform regular field visits to support sales consultants.
    • Run special projects and care about product launches and negotiations.
    • Effectively utilize and manage territory expenses, sample accounts, and consignments in a responsible manner according to company policies.
    • Increase knowledge base through successful completion of advanced and continuing training programs.
    • Perform other related administrative tasks associated with your position according to company policies.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors Degree in science, business, or a related field is preferred, but previous experience in a similar field or position may be considered in some circumstances.

    • Able to handle complicated and strategic negotiations on the top hospital management level  
    • Show enthusiasm, is ambitious and positive, can empower others

    • Has strategic qualities, innovative mindset, great communication and collaboration skills
    • Very good product and market understanding, goal orientation, high level of responsibility  
    • Ability to listen and share the knowledge, proactive and adaptable to changes
    • Well organized, handling multitasking and run multiple projects at once
    • Able to focus on detail without losing overall strategic context.
    • Five plus years of successful ophthalmic or other medical sales experience.
    • Three - Five years of successful cataract sales experience.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs
