  • Overview

    The Receiving Inspection Quality Technician ensures compliance of components, assemblies and products to design requirements through physical, visual, and specialized testing. 2)Document results in accordance with all pertinent procedural requirements. 3) Create, validate and implement test processes to ensure component/product compliance.




    Perform receiving inspection functions on machined, molded, and electrical components, utilize a wide variety of measurement tools (i.e. calipers, micrometers, CMM, Vision Systems, etc.) Document results of inspections per company procedures.


    Statistical Tools

    Interpret and implement various statistical tools including ANSI standard sampling plans, Process control charts, Capability analysis.



    Create, update and implement procedures and work instructions in regard to inspection and data gathering/analysis.


    Computer Skills

    Utilize computer applications such as word processing, to develop spreadsheets and databases. Use these skills to document and analyze quality inspection data.


    Problem Solving

    Utilize basic problem solving tools (fishbone diagrams, pareto analysis, etc.) to improve products and or processes.


    Interpretation Skills


    Capable of reading and interpreting complex blue prints and specification sheets.


    Perform Receiving Inspection Functions

    • Provide accurate measurements on critical features of incoming material
    • Work with key personnel in the timely remediation of material found to be out of specification
    • First Article Inspections for new material that needs Part Approval
    • Utilize Sterile Techniques for specific material inspections
    • Read and interpret blue prints and specification documents


    Provide clear documentation of results.

    • Adhere to CGMP documentation practices
    • Revise / create Receiving Inspection Instructions (RII) and SOPs.



    Education (Required): High School diploma or equivalent required.


    Education (Preferred): Technical Training in Geometrical Dimensional (GD&T) Drawing Interpretation


    Special Skills: Knowledge of GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices) Regulations a plus


    Specialized Training: Basic statistical knowledge to include trends, pareto and other basic charting techniques.


    Experience (Required): Five years of Quality Assurance/Control Experience


    Experience (Preferred): Quality Assurance experience in a Medical Manufacturing Environment.
