  • Overview

    This position provides manufacturing engineering support to a manufacturing operation.  This may include designing and implementing new manufacturing processes, designing manufacturing tooling, improving existing manufacturing processes, repairing and coordinating the repair of production machinery, and providing technical guidance to manufacturing personnel.

    Responsibilities

    • Investigate, justify, and implement automation and new technology opportunities. 
    • Suggest and aid in implementing product redesigns to reduce cost and cycle time.
    • Improve production processes, equipment, and methods to reduce cost and cycle time.
    • Assist in generating CAD documentation, authoring SOPs and test instructions, and creating/updating PFMEAs while ensuring that necessary verification and validation activities are performed according to Quality Systems Regulations.
    • Resolve manufacturing issues to minimize production downtime.
    • Proactively participate on new product and process design teams, as well as perform change coordination that may impact assembly operations and test processes.
    • Lead and assist with CAPA investigation, root cause analysis, and deviations, both independently and within a team environment.
    • Provide support, as necessary, to the Quality team during both internal and external audits.

    Qualifications

    Required Education:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience

    Preferred Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Biomedical Engineering discipline

     

    Required Experience:

    • Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing support

    Preferred Experience:

    • 3 -5 years in medical device or disposables manufacturing

     

    Required Skills/Qualifications:

    • Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills
    • A self-motivated and results-oriented individual
    • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, MS Project)
    • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC)
    • CAD software proficiency

    Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

    • Experience in working with lasers systems and associated test equipment
    • Proficiency in SolidWorks and MS Access
    • LEAN or Six Sigma training or certification
