  • Overview

    This individual will be responsible for managing and executing Marketing Promotions and Communications strategies in support of all US Surgical brands to drive revenue and market share growth for the surgical products. Reporting to Executive Director, US Marketing, this key leader within the organization will partner with Brand marketing team members in developing and implementing strategically aligned professional communications and tradeshow plans. This individual will collaborate with internal and external tradeshow contacts to ensure the flawless execution and effective promotion of Bausch & Lomb Surgical franchise across all major promotional avenues. This individual will be responsible for supporting promotional activities at international, national and regional levels including advisory board that are planned to run independently or in parallel to a major meeting. This individual should have a strong creative mindset, be organized, and be able to work cross-functionally with the brand marketing teams, sales personnel, Key Opinion Leaders, agencies, trade publications, customers and internal stakeholders. This role is currently listed as a Marketing Manager but is commensurate with candidates’ level of previous experience.


    • In collaboration with Product Marketing, develop a dynamic communication strategy that will aid in the visibility of the Bausch & Lomb surgical brands through a host of media channels.
    • Plan and coordinate the activities surrounding promotional activities planned by each segment of the surgical business including activities surrounding tradeshow, wetlabs, advisory board meetings and customer events.
    • Define and guide placement of promotional opportunities at tradeshows and events.
    • Through collaboration with key stakeholders (Brand marketing, medical affairs) and professional agencies, drive the creation of promotional content in various mediums to support the strategic initiatives of the event, including, but not limited to: Promotional slide kits; Promotional symposia; web content, product collateral, videos, infographics, microsites, case studies and social media.
    • Oversight over all elements necessary to support a successful event/tradeshow including securing MLR approvals, budget development and reconciliation, managing site logistics, contract negotiation, event execution, and vendor management.
    • Develop and distribute field communications for marketing events, calendar, and driving the targeting of surgeons.
    • Maintenance of event & trade show calendar for the US surgical business.
    • Partner during Product Launch phase for all new products ensuring KOLs and physicians are achieving the desired amount and frequency of influential impressions for each newly marketed device.
    • Management of advisory boards and professional promotional events including Webinars, tele-symposia and other educational programs.
    • Work closely and collaboratively with Product Marketing and Sales on ongoing event planning.
    • Be able to seek, identify and present (verbal & written) scientific data supportive of brand communication strategy.
    • Be able to submit and defend materials through the Medical/Legal/Regulatory review process.
    • Manage internal cross-functional team for event readiness and provide weekly and monthly reports as required related to progress, budgets, and event results.
    • Monitor promotions for effectiveness and report back to management on progress against objectives


    Core Competencies, Skills and Experience Requirements:

    • 5-8 years of medical device marketing or product management experience, or combination of experience in marcomm, managing tradeshows and professional events, or integrated marketing communication program for medical device /healthcare marketing.
    • Experience in Surgical Ophthalmology is preferred.
    • Experience with a major digital asset management system used to support procurement of compliant promotional materials such as Veeva is prefrerred.
    • A creative individual with strong communication and presentation skills, including experience presenting to senior management and customers.
    • Self-starter with ability to take leadership in unstructured environment.
    • Excellent teamwork skills with proven ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines and ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills across multiple projects.
    • Bachelor’s degree required. Preferably in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or equivalent
    • Ability to travel up to 25%.
