  • Overview

    The primary role of this position is to provide formulation resource for the development of new parenteral and ophthalmic dosage generic drug products


    • Support design and development of new generic solution, suspension, emulsion and gel products (parenteral and ophthalmic dosage forms) through preparation and characterization of prototype formulations.
    • Employ Quality by Design (QbD) approach for development using lab based and computational tools to design and select dosage forms and manufacturing process
    • Develop fundamental understanding and proficiency in physical characterization of dosage forms including dissolution, DSC, solubility, particle size, and other techniques
    • Design and perform elaborate and technically challenging experiments in compliance with applicable GxP regulations and SOPs
    • Generate data for project progression and regulatory filings, conduct optimization and process scale up studies
    • Interpret complicated, multidimensional data and make recommendation on new processes and development directions
    • Perform advanced, complex experimental troubleshooting and methods development
    • Timely document integrated experimental outcomes in presentations and research reports and present data to senior management
    • Develop an understanding of formulation robustness to chemical and physical changes through use of accelerated stability testing and various analytical characterization techniques
    • Maintain lab notebook detailing experimental design, execution and outcomes
    • Maintain laboratory equipment
    • Provide record checking for lab colleagues


    • MS degree with over 7 years of experience or Ph.D. with over 5 years of experience in Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry or other related science disciplines will be considered. 
    • Must demonstrate solid knowledge of the application of common analytical and laboratory techniques. A working understanding of experimental design and the basics of statistical evaluation is expected.
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software including Word and Excel.
    • Highly desired: Laboratory experience using HPLC for analysis and physical methods for characterization of materials
    • Must have Solid verbal and written communication skills
