  • Overview

    Reporting to the SVP Market Access and Commercial Operations, the VP Commercial Learning will be accountable for establishing and implementing training & development strategies, as well as plans and processes to support Bausch Health’s organizational learning goals and objectives. This role will be responsible for enterprise training programs supporting Salix, Bausch and Lomb, Ora-pharma, Ortho-Dermatology, and Dentistry.  Responsibility extends to the Market Access & Commercial Operations (MACO) organization for customer service and account management training programs.  


    The position scope will involve new hire training and recurrent training, as well as additional developmental programs for Field Sales Trainers, District/Regional Manager Development, and Emerging Leaders.  The position will also be responsible for marketing and market based training for the Bausch Health US organization.  Establishing organizational capabilities and skills for our employees to understand and engage the external market and develop and execute contemporary marketing plans to address the dynamic US healthcare market are essential position elements. 



    • Design enterprise training platform while identifying and accommodating for unique divisional needs and requirements.  Establish a needs assessment process for the field sales force as well as propose delivery methods and post training measures for evaluating division and enterprise results.
    • Identify and execute solutions for performance and potential areas of training opportunities.
    • Design and deliver impactful sales training that improves the competency level of the organization from onboarding through career lifecycle.
    • Responsible for implementing and developing training programs for new hires, existing employees, field sales trainers, emerging leaders, field level managers and mentorship programs.
    • Resolve and respond to training issues and questions from leadership and employees on the application and interpretation of processes.
    • Continuously seek, identify and support new approaches, practices and processes to improve the efficiency of training services offered.
    • Oversee and provide feedback for all classes held at the Home Office
    • Improve the performance of the field sales force by executing training initiatives.
    • Minimum of 10% field time required and providing timely coaching/feedback.
    • Become competent in strategic products and disease categories within Bausch Health.
    • Become proficient and certified in various selling models used in the various divisions of Bausch Health.
    • Lead and develop team of direct reports including approving expense reports, conducting regular one on one’s, auditing all work product, conducting stake holder meetings, and providing timely feedback
    • Manage budget for respective divisions, and track all expenses.
    • Work across divisions establishing effective business relationships with division heads and sales leadership.


    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required (master’s degree preferred).
    • Minimum of 10 years of management & leadership experience preferred.
    • Minimum of 15 years of industry experience.
    • Experience in the education/training field required.
    • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
    • Strong presentation and public speaking abilities.
    • Strong verbal, listening, written communications skills required.
    • Ability to be proactive, self-motivated and self-directed.
    • Demonstration of sustained high performance in current position and a strong aptitude for training.
    • Demonstration of behaviors that exemplify the Bausch Health Core and business principles.
    • Position is based out of the Bausch Health US home office in Bridgewater, NJ.
