  • Overview

    Manage and coordinate activities for the plant maintenance shop function to support 7x 24 manufacturing of vision care and vision accessories products

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain appropriate maintenance staffing and coverage to meet business needs. Insure adequate personnel coverage across all shift rotations.
    • Provide technical oversight for day-to-day mechanical, electrical and controls needs as well as for project and longer-term improvements.
    • Develop / utilize performance-tracking tools and initiate actions to identify actions / projects that increase equipment uptime
    • Assess equipment reliability to determine preventative maintenance frequency.
    • Develop a predicative maintenance process.
    • Identify critical skills required and establish development plans to continually improve maintenance competencies.
    • Drive department compliance to all Plant Quality and GMP Fully integrate into Plant Quality Systems (CatsWeb, Kintana, Compliance Wire)
    • Help maintain and correct spare part issues and inventory levels
    • Administer employee relations activities to align with Human Resources requirements.

    Qualifications

    Education:  HS diploma required.  Technical apprenticeship or Associates degree in related electrical or mechanical strongly preferred.  Relevant job experience may be substituted for degree requirement.

     

    Experience –

    • 5 years in Technical Support or Technical Project role demonstrating a progression of skills performing equipment repairs and preventative maintenance.
    • Detailed understanding of mechanical, electrical and controls concepts.
    • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical prints
    • 1 year minimum of medical device experience preferred.
    • Innovation, strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, ability to handle multiple tasks, and excellent communication skills are essential.
    • Special Skills:  Process validation or change control experience, PLC knowledge, programming/troubleshooting knowledge of robots (SCARA, FANUC, Staubli, IAI) and servo motors highly desired.
